Better Training for Safer Food
|
Better Training for Safer Food is a Commission- DG Health and Consumers training initiative covering food and feed law, animal health and welfare and plant health rules. It trains Member State, candidate country national authority staff involved in official controls in these areas as well as private sector competent staff. In the framework of the programme, AETS is leading four training and technical assistance projects on EU food standard for third countries, health prevention and control of aquaculture animals, food hygiene and controls and RASFF-Traces. These projects are conducted in partnership with AINIA, AENOR, AESA and CEFAS. Agriconsulting Europe (AESA) is leading the project BTSF-Africa conducted in partnership with AETS, AINIA, AENOR and FVI. |

Animal Health - Aquaculture |
Regional workshops on animal health of aquaculture animals Contract n°2009 96 05 EAHC/2009/BTSF/01 - This project covers the organisation of training session in order to provide a common and unambiguous understanding of the current state of play of certain specific animal diseases, and the related EU legislation and its proper and harmonised implementation across the EU. Furthermore, the training sessions should increase the efficacy of veterinary services in protecting the EU territory against the occurrence of diseases affecting aquaculture animals: fish, molluscs and crustacean diseases.

Better Training for Safer Food Africa 
Contract SANCO/D3/2008/SI12.514845 - This project is dedicated to strengthening national and regional SPS capacities in Africa, with reference to international standards. It comprises of two main activities:(1) the organisation and implementation of regional workshops on EU regulation and SPS measures; (2) the organisation of sustained training missions and ad hoc assistance for SMEs. |

European Food Legislation |
Regional workshops on European food legislation for third countries
Contract SANCO/E2/2009/SI2.541417- The project address the organisation of training sessions in order to inform third countries (out of Africa) about the implications of the EU food safety standards in the following sectors: animal welfare, fishery and aquaculture products, prabies, risk assessment, residues monitoring plan, etc. It icludes two main activities: (1) the organisation of regional seminars; (2) the organisation of sustained training and technical assistance missions to ensure a better understanding of the EU policy in these matters and areas of imports.

Regional workshops on Food Hygiene and Controls
Contract n°2009 96 02 EAHC/2009/BTSF/01 - These training courses are designed for European Community member state participants, however third country participants can be accomodated. The workshops deal with hygiene and food controls for milk and milk products, meat and meat products, fish and live bivalve molluscs. |
